Making sure we're on the same page

Free Evaluation

The free evaluation is designed to give you two things:

1) Free feedback from an impartial source on your existing writing (or website)
2) A feel for the way I work and the type of service I provide

The information you receive in the evaluation is yours to use as you wish - you can file it in the shredder or implement every single idea. Naturally, I hope the evaluation is useful to you and you will consider hiring me on a formal basis. I might also list you in the client section of the Four Shore website, which, if provided, will link to your website.

Guarantee

The money-back guarantee is an assurance to you that I am committed to the quality and accuracy of my service. I sincerely hope that you will never need to invoke the guarantee but I reserve the right to honour the guarantee at my discretion. Editing and writing is a subjective process, particularly concerning the question of style. Please bear in mind that editing and writing is an iterative, review-based process, where, depending on the type of document, there will be several incarnations of a proof.

In the event that you are not happy with my work, there are a couple of steps to go through:

1) If my work is grossly inaccurate (a significant number of unchecked factual, typographical or grammatical errors):
I will honour the guarantee and return your money in full

2) If you are unhappy with the style of my work:
Initially, I would like the opportunity to correct the problem(s). This requires further consultation to better understand the requirements. If this is unsuccessful (or not acceptable), I may request an independent verification that the work is significantly different to the specifications.

Depending on the outcome of these steps, I will refund your money in part or in full.

The guarantee is not applicable to certain types of work, such as PhD theses.
